Forward-thinking Bistro.
"Sitting pretty toward the top of Saddler Street, this airy, forward-thinking bistro has already established itself as the go-to brunch spot in the city... Flat White Kitchen goes some way to filling the hole which Bistro 21 left in Durham's food scene, and feels like it's settled into the fabric of the city for the long haul."

A Superior Cup.
“A sample flat white was a superior cup: strong, smooth, creamy, fulsome with fruity dark berry flavours, and served, correctly, at a drinkable temperature.”

Not Your Run of the Mill Coffee Shop.
“Judging by the food we ate their popularity is a tribute to the pared back but tasty menu on offer and the ambiance of Flat White. Not your run of the mill coffee shop, that’s for sure! We found the staff were willing to talk about the food on offer and advise on what was suitable for us to eat. They were also friendly and welcoming, which isn’t always a given in some of the cafes we’ve eaten in of late. Our lunch was definitely a success and don’t be deterred if there’s a queue – it’s well worth the wait."
CANNY FOOD
Brunch is a Durham Rite of Passage.
"The crown jewel of Durham’s restaurant scene can be found in the heart of the city, the infamous Flat White Kitchen.
This trendy spot was born out of the popularity of the smaller Flat White on Elvet Bridge since high demands forced them to branch out into their new stunning three-floored town house like location.
Visualise wooden stalls and grainy oak tables with blooming daffodils and funky mirrors and you’ll find yourself sat inside Flat White Kitchen eagerly searching through the menu. With mint flavoured water dispensers and extremely chatty young staff donned in stripy aprons it creates a very modern and friendly atmosphere that so many adore."
THE TAB DURHAM
A Big Friendly Hug.
“With a stellar reputation in its back pocket, the gang behind Flat White in Durham have expended onwards and upwards... the simple white exterior and homely yellow glow from the front window draws punters in and gives them a big friendly hug."

A Lunch Date In Durham.
"We think one of the more exciting additions to the Durham food scene is the new Flat White Kitchen. With the kitchen headed up by Shaun Hurrell (we’ve had the pleasure of eating his food before at a Trial Shift supper club) – this beautiful café is getting us all excited for the right reasons."
